    Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Love the website!

I've been diagnosed with PCOS and been given Metformin. Has anyone else found this to be helpful?

I've been trying to 3 years now and it's getting me down. I've been trying to loose weight too, but i'm stuck and need to loose more.

It's all very stressful and i'm finding it hard to cope.

    Looking for support

    Thanks

    Angela

    Hi Angela

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down. Trying for a baby is one of the most stressful experiences a woman can go through in her life. You are not alone.

Metformin is commonly prescribed to help reduce insulin levels which can cause higher levels of testosterone and multiple follicles (PCOS). However, recent large scale studies have shown Metformin to be uneffective.

Acupuncture can help reduce weight and regulate insulin levels, thereby improving PCOS. An optimised diet that has a balance of protein, omega-3s, vegetables and fruit will greatly help. Basically, a paleo diet. Acupuncture will also help to reduce your stress levels. Give it a try!

    All the best

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum. My name is Jess. I came here to find support, some advice and of course information about infertility and ivf. The thing is that recently I've got to know that my only chance to have a baby is ivf with donor eggs. To be honest I feel like I'm not ready for such a big step. That's why I decided to come here and talk to people who know smth about this procedure. I'm very confused. I have so many questions! I hope you will help me.

    Hello everyone!
My name is Victoria, I'm 32 yo. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19 yo. I've been in treatments for years. My husband and I have been together for almost 10 years. All this time we were ttc, but unfortunately treatments gave no results. Two years ago one of my doctors advised to try ivf with donor eggs. We were not 100% sure we want go this way. We've been thinking about this option for a year or even more. To be honest, it was me, who had lots of doubts and questions. Eventually I agreed to try and we went for ivf with donor eggs. I've got pregnant from the first attempt which was great surprise for us. After 10 years of infertility struggle we are finally pregnant! Now as I'm on maternity leave I decided to find a board where I could exchange thoughts and feelings with people, who were/are at the same boat with me!

    Hi all,

Just sign up to the website because I'm feeling anxious. Well this is my story.
I'm 42 years old. We have been trying to conceive for over three years.
My IVF journey (short protocol) started the 10th July 2017. Egg retrieval took place on the 20th July. Egg transfer took place on 23rd July.
The 2WW until I can test if I'm pregnant or not is already taking it's toll. I'm going crazy worry and constantly searching the internet for information on how to get through it.
    Help!!!

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry you faced problems with your ttc. I'm also new here. I'm 44. I came here to find information about donor eggs. Last year I had failed try of IVF with my own eggs. Now doctors say I need to use donor eggs. This is my only chance to become a mother. So now step by step I get more into this whole procedure. I want to wish you all the best! I hope all of us will find all info we need!

For women who want to become pregnant, treatment is focused on weight reduction and promoting ovulation. Treatment may include: Weight reduction. Ovulation induction medications. (These medications stimulate the ovary to make one or more follicles [sacs that contain eggs] and release the egg for fertilization. For women with PCOS, these medications also increase the risks for having a multiple birth [twins or more] and ovarian hyperstimulation, a condition of excessive stimulation of the ovaries that can cause hormone changes, abdominal bloating, and pelvic pain.) Women sometimes struggle with the physical changes that occur with PCOS, such as weight gain, hair growth, and acne. In addition to diet and medications, cosmetic procedures, such as electrolysis and laser hair removal can often help a woman feel better about her appearance. Because of the possible long-term health risks for PCOS, including heart disease and type 2 diabetes, women with PCOS should consult their doctor about appropriate treatment. Especially in this clinic in Kiev, they have the best services. They are even running out of economy package.

    Hello there,

I very sorry to hear about that. A fried of mine went for ivf to Gerorgia and they weren't happy. They said it was a "rip off" of their pockets. Aparently she had like 5% of getting pregnant. Hwever, they were keep on looking for donor eggs and came across First Egg Bank in Belgium. It seemes like they are the biggest don or bank in Europa and have all kind of donors. They offer eas well a medical courier service with frozen eggs. If I were you I would contact them via their main page.
